How to change the voltage level of GPIO on Concept Board | Thales IoT Developer Community
October 20, 2015 - 10:33am, 2844 views
1. I have a device with +3.3V level, but the GPIO of the Concept Board is +5V level, does any hardware configrations can change the voltage level ?
2. there is no silk screen on the Concept Board, so it's difficult to find the components location, any document for that ?
Thanks.
Hi,
To change the GPIO voltage you may connect IOREF pin on the board with the 3.3V pin.
You wrote that you don't have the silk screen on the board. Can you please upload the photo of it?
Best regards,
Michał
Hi Michal,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
for question 1: the IOREF pin is connected to VGPIO originaly, do you mean I need rework the IOREF pin from VGPIO to 3.3V pin ? please correct me, if I'm wrong.
for question 2 : you can see the pictuer below, there is no reference designator to identify the component it is, so it's not easy to find the compoents on the PCB.
Thanks~
Sorry, I was mislead by my HW colleague. Indeed IOREF is connected with the 5V and it would need to be cut to connect it with 3.3V. Unfortunately this line is hidden, so it is not possible to cut it.
As for the labels in the area which you have marked - they don't exist on any board. I understand that you need this to workaround the 5V GPIO? Or for some other purpose?
Best regards,
Michał
Hi Michal,
Thanks for your answer.
I will rework my external device with +5V level, I think that's the easy way to connect with Concept Board.
Yes, to know the location of the parts is for workaround the GPIO level.
Thanks.
