Where to send BGS5T terminal for repair? | Thales IoT Developer Community

Hello,
I would like to know where I can send a BGS5T terminal to be repaired. I accidently connected 12V to the ADC input line and burned out a component on the board. I could probably try my luck at replacing the component myself but it would be better if someone throughly familiar with repairing Gemalto terminals ran a complete set of diagnostics afterwards to make sure everything's working correctly and that no other components have been damaged.
I contacted the local Gemalto distributer here in Spain and they've informed me there is no repair service available here, and that repairing it would cost more than a new unit.
Could someone recommend a good repair center I could send it to? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
The rigth way is to contact with the compmnay you have bougth the unit. The official distributors can send your unit to repair. If your unit is "out of warrary" the cost will be mainly the price of a new unit. your unit will be replace for a new one

Hi Mr. López,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I already tried to contact the company I bought the unit from (a reseller, not a distributor), but they do not even reply to my e-mails. So then I contacted the local distributer they bought my unit from, and they told me that repairing it will always cost more than a new unit, which is what you are now confirming.
So, this is exactly the same as saying there is no repair service available for Gemalto terminals after the warranty period, because no one would ever spend more than a new unit to repair an old one, so it's cheaper to just throw it in the trash and buy a new one. This is unfortunate, and surprising for a major company like Gemalto. When these terminals were manufactured by Siemens we didn't have this problem. We were always able to have our old Siemens TC65-based terminals repaired for less than half the price of a new one.
Hi BUSCAVIENTO,
