PHS8 Won't Auto Answer CS Voice Call | Thales IoT Developer Community

We are trying to get a PHS8 development kit (ATI returns Cinterion, PHS8-P, REVISION 03.001) to auto-answer a call from CMW 500 base station but are having difficulty. The PHS8 synchronizes just fine to the call box and when we attempt a "CS Connect" we can see it the URC RING, but even when ATS0=1, the PHS8 will not answer the call without us issuing ATA. Do you have any suggestions as to what configuration settings we may need to change so that the modem will auto-answer the call from the base station?

the log of your test will be usefull to understand better your question.
Please, could you check the status of the DTR line in your serial port or just the command at&D
Additionally the command ATSx only will work for Data Calls
Could you activate with at+crc=1 the urc to know the type of the incomming call
Some carriers delete the "flag" for type of call when the call incomes from a fix line.
You can set up the module to assign one type to the inconming calls without this flag. See the command at+CSNS .

Just you will not find the AT+CSNS command in this product.

Thanks for the assistance, it's much appreciated.
We are sending AT&D1, although there is no way to read back setting and verify it according to the at command specification. If needed we could probably scope it.
We aren't issuing AT&S so I'm not sure of the reference there. We are setting ATS0 to 1, which is the AT command to turn on auto answer (so long as DTR is on, according to the spec.).
Here is the log of our test showing us receiving a call and manually answering, a disconnect, then receive another call with auto-answer turned on but the PSH8 does not answer:

As Antonio wrote you the ATS0 command is only applicable for data calls. And I can see in your log that the voice call is incomming. So this is probably the reason why the call is not answered automatically.

Thanks all. I confirmed with Gemalto that the PHS8 won't auto answer a CS voice call.
We just needed to confirm that before we started recoding our scripts to ATA on RING.

Hi.
Soory i am also using PHS8 modem. Yesturday i was able to coonect my PC (win7) to the modem. And send some AT comands buy using Hyper Terminal. Today I ma tring to coonect my PC but no comunication. Device manager also does not show USB cabel and modem. What the matter? How can i soleve this problem?
