Cinterion EHS6T - Can't enter AT commands in Tera Term | Thales IoT Developer Community

Hello. We have the Cinterion EHS6T gsm modem which I am testing with a AT&T sim. I'm using Tera Term to test with the goal to send/receive SMS however I can't enter any commands. I know other carriers have special sims for devices like these however AT&T hasn't been much help. I read in another forum thread that this modem will take a standard sim but I've tested two now with a text plan on them and can't enter any commands. I'm new to this so can you please offer some suggestions? Thanks.
Hello,
Please check which interface you are using - not all interfaces accept AT commands. It is configurable, by default AT commands are usable on ASC0, USB[0345] and USB-HSI[012]; USB1 and USB2 are reserved for tracing by Gemalto M2M GmbH. USB6 is unavailable. On ASC0 and ASC1 there is a power saving active by default - you need to use hardware flow control.
To execute any command you need to send <CR> character in the end - you probably need to configure your terminal to do it automatically.
The possibility to execute AT commands has nothing to do with the SIM card.
