CT700 - Class 2 or Class 3? | Thales IoT Developer Community

Hello,
I have a question regarding the CT700 ( http://gemalto.com/products/pc_link_readers/ ) - it is decribed as "Class 2", but it has a display. Usually, Smart card readers with a display are Class 3 - is the reader mislabeled or is it just a gadget that brings no additional security/does not comply to the neccessary standards?

This is a very important information to me as I need a class 3 reader for HBCI, but also Linux & OpenPGP Smartcard compatibility. (for the latter, the CT700 seems to be excellent)

The CT700 supports SPE for PKI operations where the “Enter PIN” dialogue is shown on the display.
The CT700 does not show the information to be signed on the display (SWYS), hence it is categorized as a Class 2 reader even though it has a display.
