Hi Gemalto community,
I've been trying to run the code debug with Eclipse on Windows 10, but I cant.
I tried to reinstall all drivers again but nothing works! please help me!!
Eclipse shows me the next error:
Using USB port COM11.Connecting to module...Passing control to external device emulator...Failed to set baud rate!Communication problems to the module, check COM port and connections!*** Error ***Device "IMP_NG_EHS5_REMOTE1" not registered!End of debug session. Emulator is closed!
My modem config is:
For me uninstalling all java sdks + runtimes and installing some java 7 32 Bit jdk (from gemalto cd or newer), the 32 Bit eclipse (x86) and Gemalto Software from Gemalto CD helped for the EHS6.
If working you can try an actual 64 bit eclipse with recent java 8/9 64 bit jdk again.
Having an java 8 32 Bit installed even in parallel to an java 7 32 Bit never worked for me.
Hello IWL, thanks for your help.
I've uninstalled all JDK and Gemalto drivers and reinstall all again. But I needed to create manually a new dial-up connection. But now is ok, thank you.
Debugging is working over a dedicated dial-up connection that is realized with special network connection "IP connection for remote debugging of EHSx". This connection uses "Cinterion EHSx Java Debug Modem" device.
There can be different problems that may cause malfunctions. One of the most popular is the firewall which can block the debug traffic. Additionally the modem port should be accessible i.e. not open by other application, not blocked by system.out etc. In your log this seems to be a problem - please check if you can sens AT commands on this port - maybe system.out is configured on this port.
It is also true that Win10 is not officially supported. But some people use it successfully.
The best starting point would be to use the software provided in the installation CD archive and proceed according to the instructions in the Java User's Guide document.
