Hi, where can I download the Windows Executable to upgrade my MC55i-W modules to version v01301c ?I am starting from version v01301.
You have probably the latest firmware available. You can check the detailed version with 'ATI1' command.
v01301c probably refers to document version.
Thank you, detailed version provided by command ATI1 is:
Is this the latest version?
This is the latest firmware available.
So, can you confirm that 01.301c is just a document revision and NOT a firmware release?Since the SIM Application Toolkit is reported as different from version 01.301 ("Supports SAT class 3, GSM 11.14 Release 99, support of letter class c") to version 01.301c ("Supports SAT class 3, 3GPP TS 31.11 Release 99. Supports letter class c"),and we are experiencing several problems with many SIM cards (SIM not recognized, or inability to successfully establish connection to the GPRS network) with the reported version 01.301 / 01.000.16Thank you very much.
There are no letters in firmware revisions - there is only 01.301 without letters and then different A-revisions. This c means newer document version.
As for the problems you mentioned each case is different and may require some technical investigation.
This module is quite old and no longer developed.
Hi,sorry for coming back to this problem:
- you told that there is further investigation which we should conduct; can you detail this? - just to explain you our critical situation: we need to quickly solve this problem because we have several thousands devices installed everywhere, and hundreds of new devices to install, and when we need to change the SIM or install a new one we incur in severe damages due to this Gemalto undocumented bug;- since this happened with many batches of SIM cards of different telco Operators, we kindly to verify whether your Company is aware of such bug.
There may be different problems with different SIMs - that's why I've written that a separate technical investigation might be needed for each case.
I think that the problem might be that this module is relatively old and it may not work correctly with some new SIM cards.
It is possible that the SIM card does not support 2G but only 3G and 4G. Or it could be a SIM-IO communication issue, maybe a timing issue - new SIMs may not work with an old wireless module such as MC55i-W which was specified and released before such high speed SIM interfaces where established in the market.
Whatever the reasons is, it could be necessary to trace SIM interface to possibly see more. Anyway it might be not trivial to find the root cause, so I suggest you to report this to Gemalto support directly (if you have access) or via your local technical sales or distributor so that it could be investigated more deeply.
