PHS8 Won't Auto Answer CS Voice Call | Thales IoT Developer Community

We are trying to get a PHS8 development kit (ATI returns Cinterion, PHS8-P, REVISION 03.001) to auto-answer a call from CMW 500 base station but are having difficulty. The PHS8  synchronizes just fine to the call box and when we attempt a "CS Connect" we can see it the URC RING, but even when ATS0=1, the PHS8 will not answer the call without us issuing ATA. Do you have any suggestions as to what configuration settings we may need to change so that the modem will auto-answer the call from the base station?
