RLP vs. GPRS in BGS2T modem protocol settings | Thales IoT Developer Community

Hi!
What is the practical difference of choosing either RLP or GPRS in BGS2T modem settings?
Is there any speed or reliability advance?
Best Regards,
Antero

Hi Antero,
I will be able to check this just after a Christmas break, when people who can clarify this will get back in the office. Please let me get back to you then.
Have a best NY!
Michał
Hi Antero,
RLP are setting available for CSD connection. CSD comparing to GPRS is a very old technology. The maximum troughput is 9600. As for reliability it is less complex to establish than GPRS but is very slow, also some networks does not support this any more.
In case you would need any more information please let us know.
Best regards,
Michał
Also keep in mind that CSD connections, most of the time, are billed per time unit as GPRS is mostly billed by data unit.
